Microschool
Mission
Empower Academy Microschool nurtures confident, compassionate, and curious learners through individualized education, meaningful relationships, hands-on experiences, movement, and Christ-centered values. We believe every child deserves to be known, challenged, encouraged, and celebrated.
Vision
Our vision at Empower Academy Microschool is to create a nurturing, innovative microschool where every child is known, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. Rooted in the heart of our small community, we provide a personalized learning experience that fosters academic excellence, creativity, critical thinking, and strong character.

Led by a qualified elementary and middle school educator, our microschool combines high-quality instruction with individualized support, ensuring that each student learns at their own pace while developing confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

We believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. Through hands-on, project-based learning and meaningful field trips, students explore real-world connections, engage with local businesses, community organizations, nature, and cultural experiences, and develop practical skills that deepen their understanding of academic concepts. These authentic learning opportunities encourage exploration, collaboration, problem-solving, and a sense of purpose.

We strive to build meaningful partnerships with families and the community, creating a safe, inclusive environment where students grow as compassionate leaders, responsible citizens, and capable problem-solvers prepared for success in high school, college, careers, and life.
Meet the Teacher
My name is Kelsey Sipes, and I will be your child’s teacher! I have ten years of public school teaching in grades ranging between 1st and 5th grade. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with my Masters in Education. I love to read, make arts and crafts and spend time making memories with my family. My husband, two children and I reside in Sullivan with our dog, Remi. I look forward to continuing to give back to the community in which I grew up. I am excited to start a new school year and transition into a smaller school setting for my family and yours!
